Barco’s story began in 1934, in the small town of Poperinge, when founder Lucien De Puydt started assembling radios with parts imported from the United States. He called his company the Belgian American Radio Corporation, or simply Barco. From those early radio sets to today’s cutting‑edge visualization and collaboration technologies, one thing has never changed: innovation is part of who we are.
For 90 years, creativity has been our heartbeat. What started as a pioneering radio company has grown into a global technology leader serving industries such as enterprise collaboration, entertainment, and healthcare. Over the decades, Barco reinvented itself repeatedly, transitioning from radios and televisions to control‑room solutions, medical imaging, projectors, and increasingly software‑driven platforms.
